Colin Ritchie has worked within the entertainment industry for over 20 years. His career has taken him around the globe many times working with the worlds most advanced Post Production companies and Broadcasters. In the early nineties Ritchie focused his attentions on the burgeoning business of Digital Effects in the motion picture industry joining Eastman Kodak's Cineon team. Working with a new breed of Post Production Company Ritchie began the deployment of Digital Film Technology in the United States and Europe. Joining Quantel's film division in 1994 Ritchie continued the deployment of high performance hardware working with the VFX teams on Stargate, Independence Day and Lost in Space.
From there he continued his relationship with the Visual Effects industry working on some of the early previsualization technology and worked closely with Visual Effects company's developing higher performance platforms. For the past five years Ritchie has worked and consulted with entertainment companies within the Interactive Television arena, Global Connectivity and 5D where he promoted ground breaking graphics workstation and introduced the Colossus digital intermediate color corrector. Ritchie has gained considerable knowledge of the Digital Intermediate process working with companies such as Pixar and Sony Imageworks assisting them to complete projects such as Finding Nemo and Stuart Little II respectively. Founding AArmadillo in October 2002 Ritchie focused on the VFX industry once again working with animation and traditional post production company's to build better environments for their future clients. AArmadillo is now engaged in the deployment of stereoscopic technology, extreme performance workstations and cutting edge display technologies that will all have their part in changing what we do in this business. Colin is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers, a member of the Visual Effects Society (Awards Committee Member) (Tech Committee Member).
